Sofija Petrović, who was born in Belgrade, is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, singing Marina Mnishek (role debut) in this new production of Boris Godunov. Other roles this season include Carmen at the Opéra de la Coruña and Venus (Tannhäuser) & Amneris (Aida) at the Hrvatsko Narodno Kazalište in Zagreb. Recent engagements have included Principessa di Bouillon (Adriana Lecouvreur), Charlotte (Werther), The Foreign Princess (Rusalka), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Aksinja (Lady Macbeth von Mzensk), Esmeralda (Franz Schmidt's Notre Dame), Mrs. Coyle (Owen Wingrave), Female Singer (Boesman's Reigen) and Cassandre (Les Troyens) and the title roles in Carmen, La tragédie de Carmen, Frano Parać’ Judita and Zandonai's Francesca da Rimini. She has performed with companies including Jerusalem Lyric Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Steinbruch St. Margarethen Opera and the Opéras Bastille and Garnier in Paris, the Hrvatsko Narodno Kazalište in Zagreb, Narodno pozorište in Sarajevo, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, the Birgit Nilsson Festival in Båstad, Tivat Music Festival and Belgrade Music Festival. This Opéra national de Paris Alumna's plans include her debuts at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels.
