Swiss born Elmar Hauser, one of the most successful young countertenors of his generation, is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Ruggiero in this new production of Handel's Alcina. He made his debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin in 2023, singing Michael in Haas’ chamber opera Thomas. He recently sang the Sorceress in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas at Bühnen Bern and Hanno in the world premiere of Ludger Vollmer's Buddenbrooks at Theater Kiel. He was nominated twice for »Up and Coming singer of the Year« by Opernwelt magazine and won 1st Prize at the CLIP Opera Competition in Portofino.
