The internationally renowned saxophonist, composer, conductor and teacher Andreas van Zoelen studied at the Conservatoire in Brabant before delving even deeper into the wonders of his instrument with Carina Raschèr, daughter of the renowned saxophonist Sigurd Raschèr. He studied composition with Alexandre Hrisanide and Jan van Dijk. He has played with leading orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Zuidnederland Philharmonie, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn and SWR Symphonieorchester. More than 140 works were written for him and he performs regularly with leading chamber music ensembles, including the Dutch Saxofoon Kwartet, and was invited to join the famous and much sought-after Raschèr Saxophone Quartet in 2014, taking over from founding member Bruce Weinberger on tenor sax, with whom he gives concerts and masterclasses all over the world. He is a professor for classic saxophone at Fontys Academy of Music and Performing Arts. More than 40 CDs and DVDs document his multi-faceted artistic career.
