Mikhail Biryukov
This Russian bass studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center in Moscow and appeared in concert for the first time in 2016, with the London Handel Orchestra at Moscow's International House of Music. He has since appeared with many leading orchestras and conductors, including Vladimir Spivakov, Luciano Acocella, Alessandro d’Agostini, Will Humburg, Michael Güttler and Yoel Gamzou. He won prizes at many national and international competitions. He furthered his studies at the Royal College of Music in London (2020 -2021) for his diploma as an opera singer, rounding his education off by attending masterclasses held by Sir Thomas Allen, Ildar Abdrazakov and Sergei Leiferkus. He was a member of the Ensemble at Hessen's Staatstheater in Wiesbaden from 2022 - 2024, during which time he appeared in recital and sang roles including Monterone (Rigoletto), Surin (Pique Dame), Kuno (Der Freischütz), Zuniga (Carmen), A Mandarin (Turandot) and Reinmar von Zweter (Tannhäuser). A regular guest at the Staatstheater in Mainz since 2023, he also sang Hans Schwarz (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) at Oper Bonn.
