Stuttgart born Annika Schlicht is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, singing Magdalene in our new Meistersinger von Nürnberg. This season she made her debuts at the Royal Opera houses in Covent Garden, as a Page in Salome, and Muscat (Oman), as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel) and will be singing her first Brangänes in Tristan und Isolde at the Staatstheater in Cottbus. She has been a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin since 2015/16, where she sang Fricka in Rheingold and Die Walküre and Waltraute (Götterdämmerung) in their Ring last season. She sings Fricka again at the Bregenz Festval, a role with which she made her debut at the Staatsoper in Stuttgart in Die Walküre. Her broad and varied repertoire includes Fenena (Nabucco), Prince Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Marchesa Melibea (Il viaggio a Reims), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Flosshilde (Rheingold and Götterdämmerung), Siegrune (Walküre), Contessa di Coigny (Andrea Chénier) and Princesse Clarisse (The Love for Three Oranges). She was Marthe / Bellangère in the world premiere of Aribert Reimann's L’Invisible (2017/18) and sang her first Adrianos in Rienzi (2018/19) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Other recent engagements have included appearances in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie and Staatsoper as Mistress Quickly (Falstaff), a Flower Maiden and voice from on high in Parsifal, 2nd Lady in Zauberflöte at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Opéra Bastille in Paris, 2nd Norn in Götterdämmerung at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, Auntie in Peter Grimes at the Bergen Festival and Sesto in La clemenza di Tito at Bergen Nasjonale Opera.
