Anna Gabler has made a name for herself internationally in the younger dramatic fach. Now she's back in Frankfurt, where she appeared for the first time as Mariana in concert performances of Wagner's Das Liebesverbot/The Ban on Love (get the CD! - OehmsClassics) and returned for Gutrune in Götterdämmerung, to sing Vérité in this new production of Magnard's Guercœur. Recent triumphs have included Kundry (role debut) in David Hermann's new production of Parsifal at the Staatstheater in Nürnberg, Genièvre in Chausson's Le roi Arthus and Angèle (The Count of Luxembourg) at the Tirol Festival in Erl, Gutrune under Christian Thielemann at the Semperoper in Dresden and Salome in Gaegu / Korea. Important engagements in recent seasons included Freia (Rheingold) and 3rd Norn and Gutrune (Götterdämmerung) under Philippe Jordan in a new Ring in Paris, Esmeralda in Franz Schmidt's Notre Dame at the St. Gallen Festival, Agathe (Freischütz), Chrysothemis (Elektra), Arabella and Gräfin Madeleine (Capriccio) at the Vienna State Opera, Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) under Daniele Gatti at the Salzburg Festival, Vladimir Jurowski in Glyndebourne and Sebastian Weige at the Tokyo Spring Festival, Leonore (Fidelio) and Carlotta (Die Gezeichneten) at Cologne Opera, Wagner's Senta at the Teatro Comunale Bologna, Salome at the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt and Nationaltheater in Mannheim. Anna Gabler studied in Munich, where she was born and where she was a member of the Bayerische Staatsoper's Youth Ensemble. Time spent under contract in Düsseldorf and Nürnberg laid the foundations for her remarkable career.
