The Israeli soprano Keren Motseri studied the cello and biology before graduating from Dutch National Opera’s Academy. Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to contemporary music; including works by Klaas de Vries (Wake, world premiere) , George Benjamin (Into the Little Hill), Oscar Bianchi (Thanks to my Eyes, world premiere), which were partly composed for her voice, Kaija Saariaho, Steve Reich and Louis Andriessen. Recent engagements have included Yitzhak Rabin: Chronicle of an Assassination by Amos Gitai at the Lincoln Center Festival in New York, Beyond the Score: A Portrait of Pierre Boulez at the Holland Festival, Passion by Pascal Dusapin in the Alte Oper Frankfurt with the Ensemble Modern under Franck Ollu (available on CD), the world premiere of the Pessoa Cycle by Jan van de Putte with Asko ׀ Schönberg in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, a tour of Sweden with Oliver Knussen’s Hums and Songs of Winnie the Pooh with the Ensemble Norrbotten NEO and performances of Bach’s Matthew Passion under Joshua Rifkin and B minor Mass under Andrew Parrott at the International Bach Festival in Jerusalem. Last year she made her debuts at the Nationale Opera in Amsterdam in Stockhausen’s Aus Licht and Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels in Bianchi’s Thanks to My Eyes and sang Lei in Dusapin’s Passion at the Aix-en-Provence Festival. She has appeared with the Nederlandse Bach Vereniging, the Residentie Orkest, the Dutch Radio Philharmonic and Ensemble Musikfabrik and worked with conductors including Peter Eötvös, Jaap van Zweden and Reinbert de Leeuw. Keren Motseri is a regular guest at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam, Festival d’Automne in Paris, Sacrum Profanum in Krakow, the Early Music Festival in Utrecht and Festival de Musica Antiga in Barcelona. She is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt.
