The Norwegian tenor is making his debut in Germany, and Oper Frankfurt, singing the Captain inWozzeck, a role he sang in this Christof Loy production at Den Norske Opera in Oslo, where he has been a member of the ensemble since 2007. He is currently singing Valzacchi in Der Rosen­kavalier, which will be followed by Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, there, where he was recently heard in Billy Budd, Gianni Schicchi and Pique Dame . His wide and varied repertoire includes Herodes (Salome), Aegist (Elektra), Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor), Nathanael / Spalanzani (Hoffmans Erzählungen / The Tales of Hoffmann), Dancaïro (Carmen), Eisenstein / Alfred (Die Fledermaus) and Bob Boles (Peter Grimes). He also enjoyed great success as Piet vom Fass in Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre. Guest engagements have included Lady Macbeth von Mzensk at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen, Calaf (Turandot) at Wermland Opera in Karlstad and Opera Østfold, Cavaradossi (Tosca) and Canio (Pagliacci) at Oscarsborg Operaen,  Manrico (Il trovatore) and Calaf at the Fredriksten Fortress and the title roles in Alfred Schnittke's Life with an Idiot at Malmö Opera and Louis Gruenberg's The Emperor Jones at Göteborg Opera. He studied at the Østlandet Music Conservatory, National Academy of Operatic Art in Oslo and with André Orlowitz in Copenhagen.
