The mezzo-soprano Julia Mattheis joined Oper Frankfurt's Chorus as soon as she finished her studies. She later decided to leave and take on more solo work, building up a substantial oratorio repertoire, church music and roles at various opera houses and the Heidenheim Oper Festival. She rejoined the chorus in 2017, after the birth of her child, and can now be heard as Bianca in this new production of Offenbach's The Bandits.  Interested in all kinds of music, she and friends brought thevoc'n'semble vocal quartet into being, which specialises in classical A cappella music. She is also a qualified singing teacher.
