Idil Kutay joins Oper Frankfurt's Opera Studio in the 2023/24 season, making her debut with Barbarina in Tilmann Köhler's new production of Le nozze di Figaro. During her studies this young artist build up a substantial repertoire in productions at the Conservatoire Den Haag, to which she won a scholarship and where she achieved her bachelors, including Nannetta (Falstaff), Gilda (Rigoletto), Marie (The Bartered Bride), Ilia (Idomeneo) and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni). These were followed, while studying for her masters at the Dutch National Opera Academy, by Gounod's Juliette  (Roméo et Juliette) and Marguerite (Faust), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus)  and Beth March in Mark Adamo's adaptation of Little Women. The invaluable experience she gained with conductors including Felix Bender and Karel Deseure and the director Dirk Schmeding rounded off her training. Shewon 2nd prize and the 2019 Alīda Vāne Singing Competition in Latvia and reached the finals of the 2022 Neue Stimmen competition.
