This Scottish/German mezzo-soprano and winner of the 2017 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition's repertoire includes Nicklausse (Les contes d‘Hoffmann), Charlotte (Werther), the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Cherubino. She was under contract to Oper Wuppertal from 2016–2018 and has appeared in places including Cologne Opera, the National Theater in Weimar, the Salzburg Pfingst (Whitsun) Festival, in Bergen, at the Edinburgh Festival and Hamburg State Opera. She also enjoys a busy concert career singing works such as the Verdi Requiem, Mahler 2, 3 and his Kindertotenliedern, Bach's John Passion and Christmas Oratorio and Berlioz' Nuits d’été in venues including Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Auditorio nacional de música in Madrid, in Kassel, Berlin, Vienna, Granada, Tenerife, Tokyo, Hong Kong and the BBC Proms. She has appeared in recital at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Edinburgh Festival, Lausitz Festival, the Lammermuir Festival and the Leeds Lieder Festival. Plans include appearances in Oxford, London, Barcelona and at the Heidelberg Spring Festival. Her first CD, The dark night has vanished, with Malcolm Martineau, was released by Linn in 2021. She studied in Glasgow, at the UdK Berlin and Franz Liszt University for Music in Weimar. Now she is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, in recital!
