The soprano Sabine Devieilhe studied cello and musicology before concentrating on singing at the Conservatoire in Paris. With a repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music, she is one of the most sought-after singers in her fach. This artist from Normandy regularly enjoys great success at leading opera houses, most recently as Ophélie in Thomas’ Hamlet at the Opéra Comique de Paris, Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) at Zurich Opera, Zerbinetta at La Scala Milan and Marie (La Fille du régiment) at Covent Garden and the Vienna State Opera. She appeared at the 2021 Salzburg Festival in Mozart's c minor mass under Raphaël Pichon and with Mozart arias under Ivor Bolton. She has been an exclusive Erato/Warner Classics artist since 2012, for whom recent recordings have included Mirages with Les Siècles and François-Xavier Roth and Chanson d’Amour with the pianist Alexandre Tharaud. Future engagements include Lakmé at theTeatro Real de Madrid, Morgana (Alcina) at the Opéra National de Paris and the Queen of the Night at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. She will also be touring Europe singing works by Handel and Bach under Raphaël Pichon and sing Britten's Les Illuminations with the Bayerische Staatsorchester under Vladimir Jurowski in Munich, Luxembourg and Brussels.
