Christine Schwarzmayr was born and grew up in Switzerland. She went to America when she was 16 to study the violin with Lynn Blakeslee at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester/NY. She later went to Zurich to study with György Pauk and Hans Kalafusz at the University of Music in Stuttgart, where she graduated with distinction. She gained exerience in professional orchestral life whilst still a student. She has also performed with the Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart (SWR), the Staatstheater in Stuttgart and Zurich Chamber Orchestra. She joined the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in 2000. Passionate about chamber music, she is involved in various ensembles, often appearing with the colleague the cellist Sabine Krams. She runs a series of chamber music concerts for the Kunstverein in Hofheim am Taunus.
