Carlo Montanaro

The Italian conductor Carlo Montanaro is a regular guest at Oper Frankfurt, where he recently conducted Rigoletto, Simon Boccanegra, Don Carlos, Mascagni's L’amico Fritz (in concert), Adriana Lecouvreur, La Bohème andTosca. Now he's back to conduct the first revival of last season's new production of Giorgano's Fedora. He was General Music Director of the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw from 2011 - 2014, where he conducted predominantly Verdi operas. Carlo Montanaro has worked at renowned opera houses around the world including La Scala Milan, the Opéra National in Paris, the Munich, Hamburg and Dresden state operas, Opera Australia in Sydney, the New National Theatre in Tokyo and in Florence, Monte-Carlo, Bilbao, Dallas and Toronto. In 2016 he conducted Carmen at San Francisco Opera, Maria Stuarda at Seattle Opera and made his debut in Seoul with Tosca. Future plans include Lucia di Lammermoor and Aida at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Norma at Palm Beach Opera. Carlo Montanaro works regularly with the Budapest Philharmonic and has conducted series' of concerts with the Atlanta, Boston, Cincinatti, Seattle, Vancouver, Santa Cecilia and Fort Worth symphony orchestras.
