Nelly Danker comes from a German / Japanese, musical family. She has directed operas and other forms of staged music at placed including the Philharmonie Berlin, Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Kansai Nikikai in Osaka, Theater Luzern, the Hamburg State Opera, Theater Heidelberg, the Staatstheater in Karlsruhe and Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden. After studying at the »Hanns Eisler« University for Music Berlin she worked closely with Hans Neuenfels from 2002 - 2006. She is a co-founder of the KinderMusikTheater in Heidelberg (KiMuTH). Nelly Danker was awarded scholarships by the Akademie Musiktheater heute and Akademie Schloss Solitude. Her production of Frank Schwemmer's family opera Robin Hood at the Staatstheater in Karlsruhe was named »Outstanding Place in the Land of Ideas«; her production of Die Zauberflöte in Osaka was awarded the Yoshio Sagawa Music Prize. Nelly Danker is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt.
