Cameron McMillan

The New Zealand / British choreographer and dancer Cameron McMillan is a versatile artist who has been making a name for himself in various forms of dance, ballet, film and fashion. His career as a dancer has seen him appearing in classic and contemporary repertoire and newly choreographed works for various companies, including the Rambert, English National and Royal New Zealand ballets, the Sydney Dance Company and Sadler’s Wells. His own choreography has been performed at Rambert, Vlaanderen Ballet, the Brisbane Festival, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet and the BBC Proms. He was Artist in Residence for dance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and received the New Generation Artist Award from the New Zealand Arts Foundation. He is working at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, on Julia Burchbach's new production of Partenope, which was preceded by operas including Alcina at Oper Wuppertal, L'elisir d'amore at the Statni Opera in Prague, Der Singende Teufel / The Singing Devil at Oper Bonn, La bohème Theater Bielefeld, L'amico Fritz for Opera Holland Park, Edmea for the Wexford Opera Festival and Siegfried and Götterdämmerung at the Grimeborn Festival.
