The film and video artist Georg Lendorff is working at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, on this new production of Handel’s Orlando. Born in Switzerland, he has been active in opera, theatre and exhibitions for more than 20 years, working for leading international companies, on major events and on experimental productions, which have taken him to places including the Burgtheater in Vienna, the Staatsoper in Stuttgart, Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and the Salzburg Festival, earning him respect and praise for his work. Georg Lendorff has worked on productions directed by people including Christoph Schlingensief, Barbara Weber, Markus Dietze, Boris Nikitin and Niklaus Helbling. Recent operas included a Lamento d’Arianna / Thomas double bill at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Parsifal at Theater Koblenz. Forthcoming projects include Messiaen’s Saint François d’Assise, directed by Anna-Sophie Mahler, at Oper Stuttgart. Georg Lendorff won the 2020 Frame Award 2020 and German Lighting Design Prize for his artistic installation UNFLUENCER at the Design Trade Fair in Milan.
