Marina Viotti (Mezzo-soprano)
Todd Camburn (piano)
& Antoine Brochot (double bass)
Marina Viotti unwinds a recital on a golden thread of music by Ravel, Buena Vista Social Club, Poulenc, Weill, Brahms, Britten, Jacques Brel, and others, accompanied by sounds on the piano and double bass called About Last Night, and muses about someone, »to whom I sing: We will be happy forever and have many children …« The diversity of her programme in her first recital in Frankfurt is mirrored by that of this Swiss mezzo-soprano's career, who received the Mazars Young Singer Award at the 2019 International Opera Awards: it was only after studying the flute and trying her hand at jazz, gospel and heavy metal (while gaining her masters in philosophy and literature) that she dedicated herself entirely to her vocal studies. Now she sings roles including Handel's Bradamante, Mozart's Dorabella, Rossini's Rosina, Verdi's Maddalena and Johann Strauss‘ Orlofsky at theatres including the Dresden, Munich and Berlin state operas, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and La Scala Milan. We look forward to the much sought-after singer Marina Viotti!
