Domen Križaj enjoyed great success in Frankfurt this season with four new roles - and what roles! Henze's Prince of Homburg, Verdi's Macbeth, Magnard's Guercoeur and Janáček's Gorjančikov - getting to the heart of the highs and lows of their lives, and suffering - with passion and artistic integrity. Although this Slovenian baritone's unique, round, warm voice has long since made him a much loved member of the ensemble, he sure raised the benchmark this season.
