Sergio Mariotti
Set Designer
Sergio Mariotti studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Brera before joining the Accademia di Teatro alla Scala. This Italian set designer has worked regularly with Caterina Panti Liberovici for a long time, on productions including, in 2015, La finta semplice in Montepulciano, Simon Boccanegra and La Bohème at the Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad. These were followed by L'ambizione delusa at the Festival della Valle d’Itria in Martina Franca, L'occasione fa il ladro and Paisiello's Il barbiere di Siviglia in Montepulciano and Rossinis La scala di seta at the Schloss Theater in Potsdam. Their productions of Fioravanti's Le Cantatrici Villane at Oper Frankfurt opened in 2016, La Favola di Natale for the Teatro Regio di Torino and Impresario in Angustie for the Cantiere d’Arte di Montepulciano in 2018. Now he's back in Frankfurt, where he enjoyed great success with La gazzetta, for this new Don Pasquale in the Bockenheimer Depot. Sergio Mariotti runs the theatre workshops at La Scala Milan.
