The baritone Leon Tchakachow, is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he sang Leporello and the title role in Don Giovanni for Children, Nicola in a new production of Giordano’s Fedora, and a Servant in Capriccio to sing a Flemish Deputy in this revival of Don Carlo. After taking lessons at the University for Music in Mainz he started vocal studies with Prof. Thilo Dahlmann at the HfMDK in Frankfurt. He has taken part in masterclasses held by people including Claudia Eder, Hans Christoph Begemann and Peter Kooij. He has been a member of Capella Spirensis, an ensemble of soloists, since 2017. Studying on the HfM in Mainz’s Barock Vokal – programme of excellence, he delved into historically correct methods of performing with people including Andreas Scholl, Sigiswald Kuijken and Michael Schneider. He has appeared in oratorios at the cathedrals in Speyer and Limburg, Maria Laach Abbey and the Katharine Church in Frankfurt. He made his debut at Hessen’s State Opera in Wiesbaden as a Flemish Deputy in Don Carlo last season and in 2022/23 he makes his debut at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt singing Rocco in Thierry Tidrow's young people's opera Persona. Leon Tchakachow was awarded a scholarship by the Richard Wagner Verband Frankfurt.
