Ekin Su Paker

After having a baby, Turkish soprano Ekin Su Paker is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she was a member of the Opera Studio from 2020 - 2022, singing roles including Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro), a role she recently sang at the Theater an der Wien, Pipetta and the Duchess (Offenbach's The Bandits), Sylviane (The Merry Widow) and Rosina (The Barber of Seville, for children), to sing 1st Lady in this new production of Aribert Reimann's Melusine. Recent engagements have taken her to places including the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, the Tirol Festival in Erl, the Izmir and Istanbul state operas and the opera and ballet festival in Ephesos. Her repertoire includes Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites), Helmwige (Die Walküre), Celia (La fedeltà premiata), Euridike (Orpheus in the Underworld), Adina, (L'elisir d'amore), Poppea (L'incoronazione di Poppea) and Despina (Così fan tutte). She studied at Istanbul University's State Conservatoire, going on to gain her masters at the University for Music & the Performing Arts in Graz and stage exams at the University for Music & the Performing Arts in Stuttgart. Early on in her career she sang with orchestras including the Izmir State Philharmonic and has appeared in recital and concert in countries including Turkey, Greece, Italy, Austria and Germany. She was a prizewinner at the 2016 Istanbul Baroque Festval and reached the finals of the Siemens Opera Competition, Izmir State Opera's National Competition for Young Singers and the Bertelsmann Foundation's 2019 »Neue Stimmen« international singing competition.
