The British dancer Evie Poaros, back for this new production of Elektra, has been appearing regularly in productions at Oper Frankfurt since 2015, including Dialogues des Carmélites, Die lustige Witwe / The Merry Widow, Rinaldo and Carmen and this season's Orlando. She often works with the director Claus Guth, for whom she has danced at places including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. Work as a choreographer and movement collaborator has taken her to the Teatro San Carlo in Naples (Don Carlo) and Aix-en-Provence Festival (Il Viaggio, Dante). She also works on interdiciplinary projects with the Kammer Philharmonie Frankfurt (including An American in Paris at the Alte Oper 2021) and Ensemble Modern and appeared with free dance and theatre groups including DORFPRODUCT and the GOSSIPS collective. While studying classic and contemporary dance at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt she completed an apprenticeship with The Forsythe Company, working with choreographers including William Forsythe, Regina van Berkel, Marguerite Donlon and Richard Siegal. She also obtained her masters in psychology in London.
