Alina Avagyan joined the Opera Studio this season, during which she sang Kate Pinkerton in a revival of Madama Butterfly which is followed by A Child in this new production of Fortner's Bluthochzeit / Blood Wedding. This Armenian soprano studied at the State Conservatoire in Yerewan, where she sang roles including Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia and Papagena in Die Zauberflöte on state. Her repertoire includes Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Zerlina (Don Giovanni) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro). She's been singing with Yerewan's renowned Hover State Chamber Choir since 2022, won prizes at the Romanos Meliqyan Music Competition and Camerton International Festival Competition and reached the finals of the »Neue Stimmen« competition in Gütersloh.
