The American baritone Jarrett Porter left the opera studio to join Oper Frankfurt's ensemble last season, during which he sang a Sergeant, Ormonte & the Marquis de Corcy in new productions of Henze's Prince of Homburg, Handel's Partenope Adolphe Adam's Le Postillon de Lonjumeau. During the 2025/26 season you can hear him as Ned Keene in Peter Grimes, singing Edgar again Vito Žuraj’s Blossoming (»World Premiere of the Year 2023« Opernwelt), the male lead in Birtwistle's Punch and Judy and a Doctor in last season's new production of Macbeth. Other roles for the company have included 4th Shepherd (Daphne), Borow (Fedora), the Speaker (Die Zauberflöte), Barbavano and Curio in new productions of Offenbach's The Bandits and Handel's Giulio Cesare, the Major-Domo (Strauss’ Capriccio), Leone (Tamerlano), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Elviro (Xerxes), and the Elder Son / Herald-Courtier & Duke Hoël in a new Benjamin Britten The Prodigal Son / The Burning Fiery Furnace double bill & Frank Martin’s Le vin herbè. Guest engagements included George Nowack in She Loves Me at Saratoga Opera, Schaunard (La bohème) at Theater Bielefeld, Valentin (Gounod's Faust)  for the Berkshire Opera Festival and Oliver Sacks in the world premiere of Tobias Picker’s Awakenings in Saint Louis. He made his professional debut singing Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at Arizona Opera. He was Artist in Residence at Marlboro Music and graduated from the Marion Roose Pullin Arizona Opera Studio,  Santa Fe's Apprentice Program, the Glimmerglass Festival and Saratoga Opera and the International Meistersinger Academy (IMA) in Neumarkt, where he appeared with the Nürnberg Symphony Orchestra.  This award winning singer trained at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Juillard School in New York.
