Since conductor and pianist Lukas Rommelspacher joined Oper Frankfurt as a soloists’ coach in 2018/19 he hasconducted performances of Dittersdorf's Doctor and Pharmacist, Rossini's Bianca e Falliero, Mozart's Ascanio in Alba, Magnard's Guercœur and new productions of a Britten The Prodigal Son / The Burning Fiery Furnace double bill and, last season, A Man like You for the company. He recently conducted performances of L’elisir d’amore and Carmen for Castle Weikersheim Youth Opera, at the Stadttheater in Gießen, the Orchestra giovanile filharmonici friulani and Germany's Youth Orchestra. Much sought-after as an assistant and coach he has worked at La Monnaie in Brussels and the Tirol Festival in Erl. Lukas Rommelspacher is Artistic Director of the Clara Schumann Orchester Frankfurt, which he founded in 2019, and whose three annual projects take them all over the country. He teaches orchestral direction at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt and Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium. A fine solo pianist and Lieder accompanist, he has appeared at the Schubertiade in Hohenems, the Philharmonie in Berlin (Brahms piano concerto Nr. 1), the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, Villa Wahnfried, the Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Schumann Haus in Zwickau and Beethoven Haus in Bonn. He also appeared as soloist with the Berlin Musikfreunde Orchestra, Dr. Hoch's Konservatorium's orchestra, Hessen's Youth Philharmonic, the German Youth Chamber Chorus, Frankfurt Youth Symphony and Collegium musicum in Berin, working with conductors including Winfried Toll and Frieder Bernius.
