This young British conductor, who took up the post of 1st Kapellmeister at the Staatsoper in Hannover in 2020/21, where he has conducted operas including Carmen, Sweeney Todd, Eugene Onegin, Rigoletto and L’elisir d’amore, is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt with Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Recent guest engagements have included Lucia di Lammermoor at English National Opera, Le nozze di Figaro at Opera North and concerts with the Southbank Sinfonia, Opera North’s Orchestra and the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. He was one of the first students to join Covent Garden’s Yorkshire Young Musicians Programme. He then went to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he’s an honorary member, and then joined the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme as a conductor and soloists’ coach, working on works including Oreste, Der Rosenkavalier, Adriana Lecouvreur, Madama Butterfly, Otello, Hänsel und Gretel and Turandot.
