Sesto Quatrini is back in Frankfurt, where he made his debut in the autumn of 2019 with this new production of Rossini's Otello , which he's now back to conduct, having returned in the meantime forManon Lescaut. Born in Rome, he studied conducting, composition and trumpet at the Conservatoire in L’Aquila before joining the Civica Scuola di Musica »Claudio Abbado« in Milan. He then started working as an assistant to Fabio Luisi at places including the Met in New York. He was Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Lithuanian National Opera in Vilnius from 2018 - 2023, where he conducted La Bohème, Il barbiere di SivigliaI Capuleti e i Montecchi, Candide and Madama Butterfly.  Recent engagements have included La traviata at the Royal Danish Opera, Le nozze di Figaro the Royal Opera in Muscat, Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro Regio in Turin, Don Pasquale in Zürich, L’elisir d’amore at Covent Garden in London and the Teatro Regio in Parma, Rigoletto at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Aida and Les Contes d’Hoffman at Lithuanian National Oper in Vilnius.  He has worked with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Budapest, the Orchestre LaVerdi in Milan and in concert at the Bolschoi in Moscow, the National Opera in Riga and Teatro Comunale in Bologna and with leading directors including Jan Bosse (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Christoph Loy (Zurich Opera) and Barrie Kosky (Teatro Regio in Turin).  Future plans include Madame Butterfly at the Opéra de Lyon.
