The oboist Márcia Sampaio, born in Póvoa de Varzim / Portugal in 2000, started music lessons when she was six. She started studying the oboe with Prof. Aldo Salvetti at the Artistic Vocational School in Espinho in 2015,  gained her bachelors at the University for Music & the Performing Arts in Porto with Prof. Ricardo Lopes, and is currently studying for her masters with Prof. Ralph van Daal at the Robert Schumann University in Düsseldorf. She has also taken part in many masterclasses and courses, gaining inspiration from leading oboists including Stefan Schilli, Jacques Tys and Diethelm Jonas, and performed with orchestras including the Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, the Orquestra Clássica de Espinho, the Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa and the Neue Philharmonie in Westfale. She was under contract to the Duisburg Philharmonic as deputy solo oboist for 2024 and her probationary year as 2nd oboist and cor anglais player with the Frankfurt Opern and Museumsorchester starts this September.
