Oliver Christian

Oliver Christian was born to a musical family in Augsburg in 1993 and started learning the trumpet when he was only five. Whilst a student he studied with Prof. Wolfang Guggenberger at the University of Music in Trossingen before going to study for his masters with Prof. Matthias Höfs at the University for Music & Theatre in Hamburg in 2012. He gained early music experience with the Bavarian Youth Orchestra, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and Hamburg State Opera’s Academy. He was also engaged by the Kiel Philharmonic and the Deutsche Oper Berlin and appears regularly with orchestras including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Deutsche Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, the NDR Elb Philharmonie and the Hamburg State Opera. He also loves playing with other passionate chamber musicians. He appears regularly as a guest with ensembles including CHAARTS Chamber Artists and 10forBrass and has won many prizes at competitions, including Jugend musiziert, the Elise Meyer Foundation in Hamburg’s competition and Sondershausen’s Rotary International Club’s soloist competition. This young musician was also awarded the Donau Schwäbisch Culture Prize.
