Ulla Tremuth
viola
Ulla Tremuth was born in Offenbach am Main in 1975. She had her first violin lesson when she was five, moving to the viola when she was 11. She started attending the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt when she was 15, before taking up her formal „Artistic Education“ in viola with Prof. Tabea Zimmermann in 1994, graduating with flying colours in 1999. This was followed by further study with Prof. Hartmut Rohde in Bern. Ulla Tremuth joined the Frankfurt Opern - und Museumsorchester in 1999. Time spent playing part-time in other leading orchestras (including the the Berlin Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, Bamberg Symphony) broadened her musical horizons. Working as a tutor at the Paul - Hindemith - Orchesterakademie is something close to her heart, and something she does at regular intervals.
