Dominik Ring
Trumpet
Born in Lower Franconia, Dominik Ring started learning music with his father and at the Music School in Schweinfurt. When he was 16 he started studying with Prof. Helmut Erb at the University for Music in Würzburg, where he gained diplomas in teaching music, being a musician and an advanced concert diploma. He joined the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester in 2001 while he was still a student. He has been teaching at the University for Music in Würzburg under Prof. Helmut Erb, since 2007, and Prof. Jürgen Ellensohn, since 2020. He has already appeared with renowned orchestras. Appearances as a soloist and in various chamber music formations (including Frankfurt Chamber Brass) round off his artistic activities. His life away from the stage belongs to his family, sport and work in the woods and as a carpenter. His passion is Egerländer brass music and his life's motto as a trumpeter: »Blos gscheit eini, dann kummts gscheit ausi!« / a guess: »Just blow in it, then something will come out!«
