Matthias Höfer

Matthias Höfer comes from Herten, Westfalia, and studied in Essen, Hannover and Basel. Before joining the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester as bass clarinet in 2000 he gathered experience at the orchestras in Hildesheim, Darmstadt, Cologne and Hagen. One of his passions is chamber music, in all its forms, the other – Richard Wagner's music: Matthias Höfer has been happily spending his summer holidays in the mystical depths of the Festspiel Haus in Bayreuth since 2009.
