Ariane Voigt
viola
Ariane Voigt was six years old when she had her first violin lesson. She went to operas and concerts at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt regularly as a child with her family – her favourite opera was Die Zauberflöte. She still loves playing for Mozart operas. When she was 12 she went to Schloss Belvedere Music School in Weimar. This was followed by studies at the University for Arts in Graz and University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. During her studies the warm sound of the viola drew her to the instrument. Her first experiences of professional orchestral life were with the Vienna Symphony, before she went under temporary contract to the Staatsoper Berlin's Staatskapelle. After time spent with the Gewandhaus Orchester in Leipzig she returned to her home town of Frankfurt am Main, where she joined the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester. She treasures the orchestra's joy in playing and the broad and diverse repertoire.
