Katharina Weissenborn

Katharina Weissenborn studied at the State Academy for Fine Arts in Stuttgart. She made cartoons for, amongst others, ZDF, was invited to international film festivals in Mannheim, Stuttgart, Dortmund and Kiev and is a founding member of Studio Film Bilder Stuttgart. Places where she has worked as a costume designer for opera and plays have included Zurich Opera, the National Opera in Helsinki, the Semperoper in Dresden, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Staatstheater in Stuttgart, Nationaltheater in Mannheim, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Theater Basel, Schauspiel Cologne, Volkstheater Vienna, Oper Halle and theatres in Oberhausen, Hannover, Bonn, Lübeck, Bremen, Augsburg, Freiburg and Osnabrück. Many productions on which she worked have been invited to important German festivals, including the Theatertreffen in Berlin. This production of Rigoletto was the first time she worked with Hendrik Müller, when making her debut at Oper Frankfurt in 2016/17, which was followed by Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor in 2017/18 and Verdi's Don Carlo in 2023/24.
