The Israeli video artist Tal Rosner is working at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, on Handel's The Triumph of Time and Enlightenment in the Bockenheimer Depot. He works closely with international musicians, directors and designer labels. Recent work included projects with the composer David Lang and the Bang on a Can All-Stars, the director Tom Morris (a semi-staged Mahler 8 in the Southbank Centre) and San Francisco Opera on their first Pride Concert. These were preceded by videos for, amongst others, Steve Reich's Tehillim at the Barbican in London, Olga Neuwirth's Disenchanted Island at IRCAM / Centre Pompidou in Paris, Scriabin's Prométhée with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and, in 2021, Mythos, an evening of Sibelius for the Staatsoper in Hannover. He also co-directed and designed videos for Wagner's Die Walküre at the Opèra National de Bordeaux in 2019 and has worked with many theatres and on dance productions at places including the Royal Court and Sadler’s Wells in London and the Royal Danish Theatre. Working in retaiI, he designed videos for companies including Louis Vuitton, Marni, Telefar and tours by the Pet Shop Boys and Rolling Stones. He won a BATFA (British Academy Film Award) in 2008 for his work on the television series Skins.
