The actor and combat choreographer Stephen Louis is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt with Mazeppa. Born in Texas, he worked for his bachelors in drama at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London before gaining his masters in dramaturgy at Birkbeck University. He teaches at the British Academy of Dramatic Combat, is a certified teacher and secretary at the British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat and a certified teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors. He teaches at various British drama schools and universities, including the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the London Film School and the Drama Studio in London. Recent engagements have taken him to the Suzuki Company of Toga in Japan and Croatia, for the The Three Muskateers, a work he staged fighting scenes for at the New Vic in Stoke-on-Trent.
