Florian Rosskopp is a freelance singer. This baritone was a member of the Staatstheater Mainz’s Youth Ensemble, where roles included Colas in Mozart‘s Bastien und Bastienne, Dorval in Vicente Martín y Soler‘s Il burbero di buon core and Savigny in the world premiere of A. Schreier‘s Kein Ort Nirgends / Nowhere, Anywhere. Guest engagements have taken him to the Thüringer Landestheater in Rudolstadt, the Nordharz Städtebundtheater in Halberstadt, the Young Opera Company Freiburg, Papageno Theater Frankfurt, Chamber Opera at Castle Rheinsberg and the Eutin and Ludwigsburg Festival. He appeared a the Philharmonie in Cologne for the first time in 2012, in Haydn‘s Creation. He also enjoys singing music including Bach and Handel oratorios, Haydn‘s Jahreszeiten / Seasons, Beethoven‘s Ode to Joy, Mendelssohn‘s Elijah and Paulus, Mahler‘s Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Brahm‘s German Requiem, Rossini‘s Petite Messe Solonelle and Stabat Mater and Orff‘s Carmina Burana. He has also taken part in quite a few world premieres of German works. He has been teaching at Kassel University since 2008. He won a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Verbande, and prizes at the Chamber Opera Castle Rheinsberg and »Consoro Internatzionale Musica Sacra« competition in Rome.
