This French pianist is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she appeared in recital with Maria Bengtsson in 2020, for another recital with Joseph Calleja. She regularly accompanies artists including Sondra Radvanovsky, Anna Prohaska, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Piotr Beczała, Benjamin Bernheim, Rolando Villazón and Michael Volle in recital at venues including La Scala Milan, the Opéra de Paris, Vienna State Opera, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Zurich's opera house and Tonhalle, the Konzerthaus in Dortmund, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Wigmore Hall in London and the Verbier and Wiesbaden's International Mai(May) festivals. She was in charge of coaching at the Vienna State Opera from 2020 - 2022 bis 2022 , having held the same position at the Salzburg Festival from 2012 - 2016. She also spent time under contract to the Komische Oper Berlin and Zurich Opera and worked as a soloists' coach and music assistant at the Staatsoper in Berlin, the Theater an der Wien, the Opéra national de Paris and in Bayreuth. She was in charge of coaching on a new production of Die Frau ohne Schatten at the 2023 Easter Festival in Baden-Baden. Sarah Tysman has appeared in concert under Kirill Petrenko playing works including Grieg's Piano Concerto and Scriabin's Prometheus at the Komische Oper in Berlin, Stravinsky's Petruschka in the Philharmonie in Berlin and on tour in Asia. She also worked on series of concerts in Berlin and the USA with the Berlin Philharmonic. She and Maria Bengtsson recorded a CD of Lieder by Richard Strauss, which was released in 2017. She studied at the Conservatoire in her home town of Paris and the University for Music and Theater in Hamburg before concentrating on chamber music with Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Lieder repertoire with people including Hartmut Höll. She's been working as a professor at the University for the Arts in Berlin since 2016.
