The Polish pianist Michał Biel performs regularly at venues including the Witmore Hall in London, Carnegia Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York and in recital at leadings opera houses around the world. He works regularly with Jakub Józef Orliński in concert, recital tours and on television - buy their new album Farewells (which comes on in May) to find out why! He's been Artist in Residence at places including the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, the Songfest in Los Angeles, The Song Continues in the Carnegie Hall, at the Académie du Festival d’Aix, Winter Singing Course in Duszniki Zdrój, the Wratislavia Cantans Festival and, with the bass Alex Rosen, with whom he also won 2nd prize at the Hugo Wolf Academy's International Art of Lieder Competition, at the Académie Orsay Royaumont in 2018/19. He has also won prizes for being an excellent pianist and accompanist at places including the Akademische Lieder Competition in Breslau, the Ludomir Róycki National Singing Competition in Gliwice, Stanisław Moniuszko International Singing Competition in Warsaw and Grand Prix de l’Opera in Bucharest. This young musician studied at the Juilliard School in New York, where he was taught by Brian Zeger, Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman and J.J. Penna and was been a member of Teatr Wielki's Opera Academy in Warsaw.
