Christiane Karg is one of the most sought-after sopranos in the world. She was a treasured member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt from 2008 - 2013, where she sang many of the roles with which she thrills audiences in Vienna (State Opera and Theater an der Wien), Berlin, Munich, London, Chicago, New York, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Salzburg and Baden-Baden festivals, including Pamina, Susanna, Zdenka, Mélisande, Sophie and the title role in La Calisto, for the first time in Frankfurt. Her roles at the Hamburg State Opera, where she began her career as a member of their opera studio, have included Mélisande, Pamina, Mozart's Countess and her first Daphnes, and she enjoyed great success at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich with Blanche (Dialogues of the Carmelites) and Fiordiligi. This award winning singer has appeared with many leading orchestras at home and abroad, with conductors including Ivor Bolton, Herbert Blomstedt, Riccardo Chailly, Christoph Eschenbach, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Thomas Hengelbrock, Mariss Jansons, Marek Janowski, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Kirill Petrenko and Christian Thielemann. Projects this season include Mendelssohn 2 (»Lobgesang«)  with Andris Nelsons, Berlioz' Les nuits d'été  with the Filharmonica della Scala under Andrés Orozco-Estrada and the Kammerakademie Potsdam under Antonello Manacorda, Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony with the Orquest y Coro Nacionales de España under David Afkham, Brahms' German Requiem with the WDR Sinfonieorchester under Christian Măcelaru and Berg's Seven Early Songs with the Danish National Orchestra under Fabio Luisi. She's a regular guest as a recitalist at the Schubertiade Hohenems / Schwarzenberg and Wigmore Hall in London. She studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Heiner Hopfner and Wolfgang Holzmair and has made many recordings, including: Parfum / Perfume - orchestral songs, Heimliche Aufforderung / Secret Invitation - Strauss Lieder and Amoretti and Scene! - arias (Berlin Classic). Now she's back in recital in Frankfurt (her last, triumphant one, was in 2018). Don't miss it!
