During the 2024/25 season Juanita Lascarro, who was born in Columbia and has been a valued member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt for many years, can be heard singing a Lady-in-waiting and Madgelone in a new production of Henze's Prince of Homburg and the first revival of Nielsen's crazy Masquerade. During the last two seasons she enjoyed success with Marei and the Princess of Granada in two wonderful new productions of Zemlinsky's George the Dreamer and Offenbach's The Bandits, Iseut, the fair, and Bogus Angèle in new productions of Frank Martin's Le vin herbé and Kurt Weill's The Tsar has his Photograph Taken and Graumann's Wife in Schreker's The Elusive Sound (get the CD! OehmsClassics). Other roles in recent seasons included Brigitta (role debut) in Tchaikovsky's Iolanta, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, The Friend and Calypso / Penelope in new productions of Schönberg's Von heute auf Morgen / From Today till Tomorrow and Dallapiccola's Ulisse. She also enjoyed great success here in the title role of Martinů's Julietta (get the CD! OehmsClassics), a Křenek triple bill and new production of Neuwirth's Lost Highway. She recently sang Hanna Glawari at the Staatstheater in Karlsruhe and Giulietta in The Tales of Hoffmann at Theater Freiburg. Other roles for the company have included Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Marchesa Matilda Spina in the first ever performances in Frankfurt of Trojahn's Enrico. She sang many important roles for the first time in Frankfurt, including Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Micaëla (Carmen) and Ninetta (The Thieving Magpie). Other roles in recent seasons included the soprano in staged performances of the Messiah, the title roles in Manon, Lulu, Agrippina, and Daphne, Violetta (La Traviata), Donna Clara (Zemlinsky's The Dwarf (Get the CD! OehmsClassics), Agilea (Handel's Teseo), Ilia (Idomeneo), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). Guest engagements have taken her to the Berlin, Munich and Vienna state operas, Theater Freiburg, Zürich Opera, the Theater an der Wien, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Opéra National de Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Teatro Real in Madrid, Palma di Mallorca and Bogotá. She also sang Strauss' Daphne under Christian Thielemann at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Ingo Metzmacher at the Nationale Opera and Edo de Waart, in concert, in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
