Edinburgh born Malcolm Martineau, one of the leading accompanists of his generation, works regularly with many of the world's leading singers, including Sir Thomas Allen, Dame Janet Baker, Ian Bostridge, Susan Bullock, Bernarda Fink, Elīna Garanča, Susan Graham, Thomas Hampson, Della Jones, Simon Keenlyside, Angelika Kirchschlager, Magdalena Kožená, Anne Sofie von Otter, Joan Rodgers and Anne Schwanewilms. He's a regular guest at Oper Frankfurt, where he has appeared in recital with singers including Pavol Breslik, Tanja Ariane Baumgartner, Mojca Erdmann, Günther Groissböck, Simon Keenlyside, Magdalena Kožená, Catriona Morison, Christopher Maltman, Paula Murrihy, Dorothea Röschmann, Michael Schade, Bryn Terfel and, most recently, Cameron Shahbazi. His extensive discography includes Lieder by Britten, Schubert, Schumann, Strauss and the complete songs of Beethoven, Fauré and Poulenc.  Other leading venues where he has performed have included the Barbican Centre and Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, La Scala Milan, the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, Philharmonie and Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Carnegie Hall New York and the Aix-en-Provence, Vienna, Edinburgh, Munich and Salzburg festivals. Malcolm Martineau created series of concerts concentrating on works by Britten, Poulenc and Wolf at the Wigmore Hall in London and Edinburgh Festival. Awards have included an honorary doctorate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and he was made an »International Fellow of Accompaniment« in 2009. Malcolm Martineau was artistic director of the 2011 »Leeds Lieder+ Festival« and was made an »Officer of the Order of the British Empire« in 2016.
