Arnulf Ballhorn has been a member of the Komische Oper in Berlin's orchestra for more than 25 years. He studied with Rainer Zepperitz at the University of Arts in Berlin. It's impossible to pidgeon hole him: he loves playing in an orchestra, contemporary and chamber music, tango and jazz and electric double bass. He drew inspiration and found challenges learning from Miroslav Vitous, Gary Willis and Jonas Hellborg, working in the Glorvigen Trio, with the actress and singer Dagmar Manzel and projects with the vibraphonist Oli Bott. He's a regular guest at leading international festivals and other organised events and has his own label and studio!
