The internationally sought-after British pianist Simon Lepper, a regular guest at Oper Frankfurt, appears with singers including Benjamin Appl, Ilke Arcayürek, Christiane Karg, Stéphane Degout, Angelika Kirchschlager, Stephen Loges, Sally Matthews, Mark Padmore, Dame Felicity Palmer, Christopher Purves, Elizabeth Watts, Rachael Wilson and Lawrence Zazzo at venues including the Wigmore Hall in London, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Musee d’Orsay in Paris, the BBC Proms in London, the Edinburgh and Ravinia festivals, the Schubertiade in Hohenems and Schwarzenberg, in Barcelona, Zurich, Lausanne, Bordeaux, Lyon, Dijon, Brussels, Mumbai and San Francisco. He made his debut at the Carnegie Hall in New York with the mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill and opened the highest concert in the world with Aida Garifulina in Shenzhen, China: their Schubert album - The Path of Life (Prospero Classical) - was nominated for a 2021 Opus Klassik prize twice. This award winning artist's discography includes Lieder and chamber music by Schubert, Debussy, Mahler and Strauss, Schönberg, Dove, Feldman, Zimmermann and Xenakis (Phantasy of Spring with the violinist Carolin Widmann (ECM), which won the Diapason d'Or and a German Critics Award). Simon Lepper studied musicology at King's College Cambride and piano accompaniment with Ruben Lifschitz at the Royaumont Fondation. He is a professor at the Royal College of Music in London, and assistant Head of Keyboard (Collaborative Piano) and teaches at theRoyal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. He has given masterclasses at places including the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Samling Institute for Young Artists, the LIFE Victoria Festival in Barcelona and La Chapelle.
