Sam Park, jumping in at short notice to sing Ping from the side of the stage in this evening's performance of Turandot, joined Hessen's Staatstheater in Wiesbaden's ensemble in the summer of 2024. Recent engagements took him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for productions including Il barbiere di Siviglia, Carmen and Madama Butterfly on a World Culture Network scholarhip, and Oper Wuppertal for Landgraf Rudolf in a highly praised production of Erwartung / The Wood. Concert work has taken him to the Konzerthaus in Berlin, on an ARD-Prize Winners' tour and the »Musical Olympus« Festival in St. Petersburg. He studied at the National University of Arts in Korea and Hanns Eisler University for Music in Berlin and enjoyed success at many competitions, winning the 2024 ARD Music Competition and 2023 Mt. Fuji International Opera Competition in Shizuoka and Riccardo Zandonai Riva del Garda Competition.
