Gabriel Capizzi

The Italian dancer Gabriel Capizzi, making his debut at Oper Frankfurt in this new production of Tchaikovsky's Mazeppa, followed his bachelors up with a masters degree in dance at the State University for Music and the Perfrorming Arts in Mannheim in 2022. Whilst still a student he gained stage experience at theatres in Heidelberg, Mannheim and Karlsruhe before joining the ensemble at the Staatstheater in Karlsruhe, where he danced under the leadership of Birgit Keil, Bridget Breiner and Raimondo Rebeck. He dances roles in works including The Girl and the Nutcracker, Maria Stuart and Ruß choreographed by Bridget Breiner, Romeo and Juliet by Jean-Christophe Maillot, Voluntaries by Glen Tetley and Giselle by David Dawson. He also danced in works choreographed by Mthuthuzeli November, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Kristina Paulin, Stina Quagebeur and Youri Vámos.
