Matteo Ivan Rašić is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing Ferrando in this revival of Così fan tutte. He started singing with the Wiltener Choristers when he was 6, going on to study at Tirol's Conservatoire, the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna and Mozarteum in Salzburg. He also took part in masterclasses held by Brigitte Fassbaender, Robert Holl and Thomas Hampson, amongst others. Recent engagements have included appearances at Kufstein's Operetta Summer Festival, Croatia's Opera Academy and he sang Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at Oper Burg Gars in 2024. He regularly sings in masses, Christmas, New Year's and Gala concerts, in places including Bayreuth, Tirol and Croatia. Since joining the ensemble at the Gärtner Platz Theater in Munich in 2023/24, where he made his debut in 2022 singing Fritz in Die Großherzogin von Gerolstein, roles have included Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Adam (The Bird Seller), Marius (Les Misérables), Alfred (Die Fledermaus), Ferrando and Nemorino. He won the 2022 Stanisław Moniuszko Competition's »Opera for Peace Prize«, the »Tirol Klassik Singer Prize«, 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2024 Otto Edelmann Singing Competition in Vienna and Austria's 2025 »Musiktheaterpreis« for the best up-and-coming artist.
