Dan Pelleg

Dan Pelleg's career began when he took up classic vocal studies and dance at the Conservatoire in Tel Aviv before joining another interdisciplinary programme, for outstanding students, at Tel Aviv University run by Prof. Yehuda Elkana. His first job was with the Batsheva Ensemble run by Ohad Naharin and Naomi Perlov. He then moved to Berlin where he worked with many choreographers. He is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, in this new production of Mitridate, re di Ponto. Dan Pelleg and Marko Weigert have been co-directors of the wee dance company, co-founded by Sommer Ulrickson, since 1999, which appears all over the country and has won many awards and prizes. A 13-year residence with the Company at the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater Görlitz Zittau ended in August 2024. He recently danced in Jesus Christ Superstar (dir: Andreas Homoki, choreography: Sommer Ulrickson) at the Komische Oper Berlin and Rameau's Samson (dir: Claus Guth, choreography: Sommer Ulrickson) at the Opéra Comique in Paris. He also danced, sang and acted in productions in Berlin, Schwäbisch Hall and New York City.
