Iván Delgado del Rio

Iván Delgado del Río comes from Seville, where he graduated from the Conservatoire. He was awarded a scholarship by the Ciudad de Castellón dance competition to study at the Studio Centre in London. He joined the Images of Dance Company in London, then the English National Ballet School in 2007 (graduating in 2009) which gave him the chance to dance with English National Ballet. He went under contract to Scottish Ballet and was invited to dance with companies including New English Ballet Theater, Corella Ballet, Carmen Roche Ballet, the Staatstheater in Nürnberg and in Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures. He's been working freelance since 2019, in productions including Swan Lake at Théâtre Mogador and Il était une fois Casse-Noisette at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris (directed / choreographed by: Karl Paquette). He dances at galas and works teaching dance, as a choreographer and choreographer's assistant at places including the Institut del Teatre, bei PAR Dansa and conservatoires in Seville, Valencia, Cáceres, Burgos and the Conservatorio Carmen Amaya in Madrid. He is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt in this production of Mitridate, re di Ponto, in which he took part when it first opened at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
